Jean Shrem, principal of Shrem Law Group, has been an attorney since 1997.  She earned her J.D. Degree from the University of San Francisco School of Law and her B.A. Degree from UC Berkeley.  During the dot com era, Jean worked as in-house corporate counsel for software and technology companies.  She also spent six years as an active realtor in the East Bay area.  Jean started Shrem Law Group in 2001 and has also been a licensed real estate broker since 2002.  Jean specializes in, and speaks publicly on current topics in, the fields of Real Estate Law, Business Law and Intellectual Property Law.  She provides private consultation and legal services to individuals, serves as outside general counsel to small and medium sized businesses and provides overflow legal services to large corporations. 


Lara C. Smith is Of Counsel to Shrem Law Group. She has been practicing in the fields of commercial and general litigation, employment defense, civil rights defense, and for over 15 years, earning a Bachelor’s of Business Administration from the University of San Francisco and her Juris Doctor from Emory University.

As a litigator, Lara represents individuals, small and medium-size businesses in business-related disputes. She represents clients in both pre-litigation dispute resolution, alternative dispute resolution, and traditional litigation through trial in both state and federal courts.  She also has experience with non-litigation business formation and dissolution matters and with review of contractual issues. 

Lara also has significant employment law experience, having tried disputes in State and Federal courts. Her cases have involved all types of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation.  Lara has provided training for employers on issues such as documentation of issues with employees, compliance with federal and state employment laws, and EEO training for employees.  She also reviews employment contracts and helps with separation agreements. 

Finally, Lara has significant civil rights and public employment experience in many types of cases and for many types of employers.  She was one of the lawyers for a BART Officer involved in a well-known New Year’s Day shooting and has significant experience defending peace officers and other public employees in both internal matters and civil rights cases.

Weldon Bradstreet is Of Counsel to Shrem Law Group.  He represents and advises residential Landlords and Property Managers in landlord-tenant matters, real estate litigation, and general civil litigation matters. His primary practice involves Unlawful Detainer (eviction) litigation, Rent Board proceedings, tenancy buyout negotiations, owner move-in evictions, and habitability and housing rights cases. A significant portion of his landlord-tenant practice is devoted to representing clients in the Rent Control/Eviction Control cities of Berkeley, Oakland, and San Francisco.  Weldon also represents and advises homeowners in real estate law matters involving easement disputes, trespassing and encroachment, adjoining landowner disputes, inverse condemnation, water intrusion, fire damage, landslide damage, and tree removal and damage cases. Weldon is dedicated to serving the legal needs of individuals and companies in all of the Bay Area counties.  He graduated from the University of San Francisco School of Law in 2001 and obtained his B.A. Degree from UC Santa Cruz.
